Prices & Scams Some on line stores have posted higher than list price on their sites. The links I have provided are major name outlets. They sell at or below list price. I have found a few outlets on line that will charge anywhere from $3 to $20 higher than the price listed by my publisher. Email me with details, such as a web site, anytime you suspect a U.S.A. source selling higher that $34.95 for Hawk Dancer, $27.95 for Cloudburst or $24.95 for Birch Clump Portfolio. You can always protect yourself by conducting a search for the author of any current book to see if the author has a web site, or check the publisher's web site. You can check the claims of the seller with what the author and publisher has to say about their book.

What is POD publishing?

    POD stand for "Publish On Demand." This the most updated printing or book publishing system that can print one book or as many books demanded in a single customer order. For instance, a fresh new book is printed each time someone orders a copy of one of my books.
     The older system, off line printing, is still in use for massive orders of say 1000, or 2000 or more books for a publisher's warehouse. That is expensive and being stuck with a huge inventory for a slow moving title is risky business for a publisher. So, its undertandable why most publishers are cautious about taking on little known, new authors, or writers of specialized materials for a limited market using the older off-set printing method.
     P.O.D. publishers, on the other hand, can cost effectively handle both large runs and print orders as small as a single copy at any given time. Being a new author, I signed up with Publish America back in 2004 and have been very satisfied with the results, and more importantly, so have been the readers of my books.
     There are many companies that will print POD. Publish America, unlike many of these newer companies, treats authors in the traditional manner: They pay us each time a book is published. Getting published by Publish America doesn't cost us authors a dime. I am a monk reciving a stipen or allowance that amounts to about a day's wage at minimum wages to last the whole month. There would be no way I could afford to pay to have my book published. PA's POD made all this possible for me.

The days of deep-discounts from the publisher apears to have come to an end (or at least taken a break). Therefore I had to bring up the price of copies I buy, sign and send out. But, I still offer a discount. The base scedule that I can sell for is listed in the box below: br>
